Hi, I’m Gaurav Dalbhanjan
I hold Master’s in Industrial Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, USA and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India.
As a child, I was always sketching and redesigning the world around me, unaware that everything had once been designed by someone. That curiosity soon turned into a passion - an urge to understand how things are designed, inside and out. That’s how I fell in love with both science and engineering.
Shifting from engineering to design wasn’t easy but it gave me an upper hand. Engineering is rooted in logic- mathematics, physics, calculations and “n” number of laws - while designing is about philosophy, poetry, emotions and human experiences. It was a tough transition for someone used to machining, welding and calculating stress-strain of parts. But, engineering gave me something invaluable: a “Never give up” mindset and a belief that impossible can be achieved.
I stand for Good, Ethical, Creative, Sustainable and Innovative Design-Design that speaks about life, love, joy, action, culture, desire, dreams and needs that which positively impacts human life. I believe in designing for a smarter, safer, minimal, efficient and a better future, not just for us, but for generations to come.

Design Journey
I. Rural Dreams Meeting Global Possibilities
As a child born and raised in a rural village Dharashiv, Osmanabad in South-eastern Maharashtra, India. My parents always taught me to dream the impossible and to be humble.
II. Origin of Purpose
During my play time, I used to design miniature cities, roads, gardens, zoos, roads & transportation system, maybe they were early expressions of an architecture’s mind?
Seldom did I knew about design as a profession, the movie “Tarzan: The Wonder Car” released in 2004. And the course of my intent to gain knowledge changed drastically.
III. Catalyst of Empathy
What touched me was that the son designs a futuristic car from the remains and scrap of his father’s fatal car accident. He designed it to keep as a memory, as a tribute, as something that would have made his father proud.
Probably a beautiful example of Human resilience and love. This emotional connection to creation—designing not just for function but for meaning—became my foundation.
IV. Unorthodoxically Authentic
I am naturally good at finding problems, critical gaps, user research and flow analysis all through observations! And I love ideating through simple hand sketching, I started drawing and designing cars, products and now much more. Yes, I have an unorthodox skill for problem identification and problem solving design solutions. And surely, there is much to learn, improve, grow each hour, and demonstrate using these skills, strategically prompting AI to do the lifting. The spark of creativity and craziness always comes from within!
